Veja arrives at Oxygen Clothing
Established in 2005, Veja has finally arrived at Oxygen Clothing for the Autumn/Winter 2023 season with a collection that represents a continuation of the brand's core principles that have cemented its position as a global leader in sustainable footwear. Combining style with a forward-thinking philosophy and values remains the specialty of Veja and something we were keen to see ourselves showcase this season.
The welfare of both the employees of Veja and the planet on which they work have remained key priorities for the brand since its foundation and continue to be today. Veja does not advertise, preferring to reinvest those resources into ensuring their trainers are made using fair-trade materials, in safe factories by fairly compensated employees. They do not ship products via air but use ships in order to lower their CO2 output. The price they pay for their cotton is entirely decorrelated from the market, ensuring financial security for the people who farm it. They're not your average footwear brand.
Given the current global environmental situation, it is impossible to overstate the importance of finding increasingly ecologically conscious methods of not only the manufacturing, shipping and marketing of footwear but also the consumption of it. Veja has only two new releases per year to resist the temptations of both excessive consumption and overproduction.
