Brand Focus: Hylo24th April 2025 by B.Burrows Emerging in 2020 with the launch of the "Light" model, Hylo Athletics set out to make a name for themselves in the performance footwear and were quick to expand their product range. By 2023 both the "Legacy" (Designed for daily use) and "Run" (Designed primarily for performance) models were released, creating the ideal springboard for further progression from the brand and eventually leading to the now flagship silhouette, the "Impact". Impact Trainer, Undyed Hylo have since developed a proprietary design methodology with a focus on materials, comfort and sustainability. Petroleum based plastics commonly used in the production process for shoes were replaced by biobased materials, each sourced as close to the final manufacturing location as possible to further reduce the brand's CO2 output and harm to the planet. The brand implemented previously unused technology and materials to create a breathable, comfortable construction that retains its performance, despite the additional adaptations required as a result. Impact Trainer, Triple Black The brand's focus on having a positive impact on the environment led to the development of the "Hyloop" program which has now been implemented, ensuring that even pairs of Hylo trainers that can no longer be worn don't end up in landfill. Some are retained by the brand for their product development archive, others are given a new lease of life and recycled into a new pair. Every pair of trainers manufactured is also vegan and cruelty free - Leathers, suede, animal-based glues and dyes have all been removed from the manufacturing process to further the brand's long-term aim of reducing their impact on the planet.
